Jordan Daily – In a recent World Bank report, Jordan has been flagged for having the “highest” smoking rates globally.
The report expressed concern over 24% of students aged 13-15 being current smokers in the Kingdom, deeming the figures worrisome. Moreover, the report highlighted that over 6 out of 10 men ( 41% of the total adult population) in Jordan continue to smoke, making it the highest smoking rate in the Middle East and North Africa region.
The rising popularity of e-cigarettes among young people has also been identified as a contributing factor to this alarming trend, the report cautioned.
