Jordan Daily – The closing event of the “Youth-Jo Level Up” project, organized by Partners for Good in collaboration with Ministry of Agriculture and its affiliates, including the National Agricultural Research Center (NARC), was held on Monday.
The program, aimed at enhancing youth employment and entrepreneurship in the agriculture and tourism sectors, marked its successful conclusion.
The project, officially titled “Capacitating Youth with Skills for Entrepreneurship and Employment in Agricultural and Tourism Value Chains in Jordan – Youth-Jo Level Up,” was funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. It was implemented by Partners for Good alongside several key organizations, including Advance Consulting, Fal for Consulting and Management Services, LMNS for Social Development, and the European Centre for Eco Agro Tourism (ECEAT).
Harry Verweij, the Ambassador of the Netherlands to Jordan, attended the event alongside representatives from government agencies, civil society, and the private sector. The event also welcomed young participants who benefitted from the program.
Throughout the project, approximately 1,640 young people, 60% of them women, received soft skills training to improve their employability. An additional 1,130 participants underwent vocational and technical training before being connected with employers in the tourism and agriculture sectors. As a result, 896 youth have secured employment.
“The Youth-Jo Level Up! program exemplifies the transformative power of investing in young people,” said Ambassador Verweij.
“1,600 youth are now equipped with the skills and opportunities they need to secure jobs, start businesses, and positively impact their communities. The Netherlands remains dedicated to fostering an environment where young people can thrive. We will continue to work closely with our partners to create opportunities for youth, both for Jordanians and refugees alike.”
Walid Al-Tarawneh, CEO of Partners for Good, emphasized the project’s success, noting that it exceeded initial expectations and praised the Dutch Embassy’s support. He also highlighted the collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and NARC, which has been essential to the project’s achievements in improving agricultural practices and youth participation in the sector.
The closing event featured a workshop where participants and private sector representatives shared insights and lessons learned, underscoring the project’s contribution to addressing unemployment in Jordan and promoting sustainable economic development.
