Jordan Daily – Jordanian taekwondo athlete Zaid Mustafa secured a silver medal at the Paris Olympic Games yesterday , marking Jordan’s first medal of the tournament. Competing in the 68 kg weight category, Mustafa advanced to the final, ensuring a podium finish for Jordan.
In the final match, Mustafa faced world number one Ulugbek Rashitov of Uzbekistan, the reigning Olympic champion from the Tokyo 2021 Games. Despite a valiant effort, Mustafa was defeated, earning the silver medal.
This achievement raises Jordan’s total Olympic medal count to four, with three of those medals coming from taekwondo.
