Jordan Daily – Minister of Education Azmi Mahafzah met on Monday with Zain Jordan Chief Executive Fahad Al Jasem to discuss boosting digital transformation in the public education sector, as the telecom operator pledged JD 3 million to expand internet access in schools.

The meeting, attended by Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Sami Smeirat, focused on strengthening public-private cooperation to enhance digital infrastructure and improve the quality of education, according to a joint statement seen by Jordan Daily.

Al Jasem announced that Zain Jordan will fund the installation of Wi-Fi networks in 1,500 public schools across the kingdom, as part of a national effort to modernize classrooms and support digital learning.

Mahafzah said partnerships with the private sector are essential for implementing national education projects, adding that improved digital infrastructure would positively impact learning outcomes and better equip students and teachers with modern educational tools.

Smeirat said the initiative follows a recently signed agreement between his ministry and Zain Jordan to deliver wireless internet solutions to government schools. He noted that the project aims to provide internet access inside classrooms, helping integrate digital technologies into daily teaching practices.

Zain Jordan said the initiative reflects its long-standing commitment to corporate social responsibility and investment in education, which it considers a cornerstone of sustainable development and future economic growth.
