Jordan Daily – Mayor of Amman Yousef Shawarbeh said on Tuesday that more than 44 million passengers used the city’s bus services in the past year, including nearly 6 million who rode for free.
Speaking at a media event titled “Amman Municipality… Challenges and Solutions”, Shawarbeh said the bus network, which consists of Amman Bus and the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) , spanned 870 kilometers and have 43 routes.
He also said the municipality subsidized the bus fares for Jordanian passengers by JD10 million annually.
