Jordan Daily – Major General Yousef Ahmed Al-Hunaiti, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, visited the site of the Special Operations Forces Exhibition and Conference (SOFEX) 2024 on Saturday to review final preparations for the event. The 14th edition of the exhibition is set to open on Sept. 2 in the Aqaba Special Economic Zone.
Al-Hunaiti toured various sections and pavilions of the exhibition, accompanied by senior military officers and officials from SOFEX. The exhibition is seen as a valuable opportunity to engage with allied and friendly countries in discussions on defense industry development.
Al-Hunaiti received a detailed briefing on the preparations, which have been conducted according to the latest standards. He commended the efforts of those involved in completing the preparations on schedule for the international military exhibition.
Established in 1996 under royal directives, SOFEX is recognized as the largest event of its kind in the world. It features discussions and seminars led by senior military and civilian officials from various countries, focusing on innovative security solutions and the exchange of expertise in special operations and defense industries.
