Jordan Daily - Saudi Arabia temporarily shut its East-West oil pipeline after drone attacks in the Riyadh and Madinah regions injured several people, the Energy Ministry said on Friday.
The shutdown was a precaution as emergency and technical teams assessed the pipeline and secured the site, the ministry said.
Saudi Arabia said the drones were launched from Iraq but would not retaliate for now following a request from Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi. Riyadh said it expected Baghdad to take steps to prevent further attacks from Iraqi territory.
Iraq condemned the attacks and ordered an urgent investigation, saying its territory and airspace would not be used to launch attacks against other countries.
The attacks come after Iran-backed Houthis targeted energy and civilian infrastructure in southern Saudi Arabia earlier this week, causing fires and temporary disruptions at some oil facilities.
