Jordan Daily - Egypt and Bulgaria are marking 100 years of diplomatic relations with a series of cultural and educational events aimed at strengthening ties between the two countries, led by Egypt's ambassador to Bulgaria, Nader Saad.

The centenary celebrations come as Cairo and Sofia seek to expand cooperation in education, culture, tourism and trade, building on their longstanding bilateral relationship.

As part of the anniversary, the Egyptian Embassy in Sofia launched the "Egypt Day" initiative, taking cultural programs to several Bulgarian cities. The first event was held in Sapareva Banya, where students at Hristo Botev School showcased artwork, exhibitions and presentations inspired by ancient Egyptian civilization, including the pyramids of Giza and the temples of Luxor and Abu Simbel.

Ambassador Saad met with students and answered questions about Egypt's history, culture, education system and contemporary life, highlighting the role of educational exchanges in fostering mutual understanding.

The initiative continued on April 23 in the northern city of Pleven at Tsvetan Spasov Secondary School. Students presented projects and models reflecting Egypt's history and architecture, while the ambassador awarded certificates to participants in recognition of their work.

During his visit, Saad also met municipal officials to discuss potential cooperation in culture, education and tourism, and toured the Pleven Epopee 1877 Panorama museum.

The embassy said the "Egypt Day" program reflects Egypt's commitment to cultural diplomacy as a means of strengthening people-to-people ties, promoting mutual understanding and reinforcing the historical friendship between Egypt and Bulgaria as both countries look to deepen cooperation in the years ahead.
