Jordan Daily, Azerbaijan - President Ilham Aliyev said on Monday the Shusha Global Media Forum was created to provide an international platform for dialogue among media professionals while allowing participants to witness the reconstruction of Azerbaijan's Karabakh region.
"The idea of the forum was to create an atmosphere for media representatives from different parts of the world to address issues of common interest and mutual concern, while also giving them the opportunity to get acquainted with Karabakh and Shusha," Aliyev said at the opening ceremony of the forum.
"As time passes, I'm sure that many of our guests who visit us regularly can see the development of Karabakh and witness its ongoing reconstruction," he added.

The fourth Shusha Global Media Forum, held under the theme “The Mission of the Media in Promoting Peace: Restoring Truth and Rebuilding Trust,” has brought together nearly 160 journalists, media executives, experts and officials from 54 countries.
The forum's agenda includes panel discussions and bilateral meetings on strategic issues such as the media's role in peacebuilding and shaping public discourse, the responsibility of journalism in covering post-conflict reconstruction, and the relationship between media diplomacy and media literacy in strengthening societal resilience.
On the Azerbaijan- Jordan ties, Aliyev praised King Abdullah II for supporting efforts to promote peace in the Middle East, highlighting the close ties between Azerbaijan and Jordan and their shared commitment to strengthening solidarity among member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). Azerbaijan is due to host the 16th OIC Summit in its capital, Baku.
The two-day forum, which runs through July 14, will also feature the ethical and legal frameworks governing social media in the age of artificial intelligence, as well as ways to foster cross-border media dialogue, promote digital solidarity and develop sustainable global communication channels aimed at restoring public trust and combating misinformation.
