Jordan Daily - Al-Kindi Hospital has highlighted the capabilities of its Petra Operating Room, one of 12 fully equipped operating theatres at the private hospital, as part of efforts to provide advanced surgical care in a safe and integrated environment.
Operating Room No. 3, known as the Petra Operating Room, is dedicated to general surgery, including laparoscopic bariatric procedures such as sleeve gastrectomy, as well as gallbladder and other general surgical operations.
The theatre is equipped with advanced surgical endoscopy systems and medical equipment and operates under infection-control, sterilisation and patient-safety standards. Surgeons and consultants with specialist qualifications and experience oversee procedures, supported by anaesthesia and intensive-care specialists who monitor patients before, during and after surgery.
The hospital said the operating room is designed to meet international quality and infection-control requirements, while its inpatient facilities provide continuous care around the clock until patients are ready to leave.
Al-Kindi Hospital has named its 12 operating rooms after Arab, international and Jordanian cities and landmarks, including Riyadh, Doha, Kuwait, Dubai, Petra, Wadi Rum, Jerash, Hamburg and London. The names, accompanied by symbolic images, are intended to create a sense of familiarity and reassurance for patients, including those travelling to Amman for treatment.
The hospital offers a range of medical specialties and dedicated centres covering bariatric and cosmetic surgery, vascular surgery, fertility treatment, lithotripsy, interventional radiology, cancer screening, organ transplantation, cardiac catheterisation and open-heart surgery. It also operates gastrointestinal and biliary endoscopy services and an emergency department supported by modern equipment and ambulances.
