Jordan Daily - The secretary-general of the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO), Hussein Al-Shibli, called for greater trust, cooperation and the immediate exchange of information to help determine the fate of missing people and ease the suffering of their families.
Speaking at the fourth International Conference on Missing Persons in Baku, held as part of the “Baku Dialogue on Missing Persons”, Al-Shibli said resolving missing persons cases required stronger cooperation among the parties involved and more effective mechanisms for sharing information.
“Missing persons are not merely numbers in reports,” Al-Shibli said during a plenary session, stressing that individuals have a right under international laws to know their fate.
He said humanitarian work was fundamentally about protecting human dignity and turning institutional coordination into practical action.
The conference brings together international participants to discuss ways of building trust and developing effective mechanisms and solutions for addressing the issue of missing persons.
