Jordan Daily -  Azerbaijan's Media and Broadcasting Council has warned of what it described as a coordinated online campaign aimed at politicising regulations on student and educator dress codes and fuelling public tension.

In a statement, the council said identical or similar posts, including negative comments and reactions, had been disseminated rapidly across multiple social media accounts, alongside calls encouraging violations of public order.

The council said the repeated activity of a limited number of accounts across numerous posts, particularly during specific time periods, suggested a coordinated effort to manipulate public opinion.

It described the activity as a possible "troll attack" and alleged that the information campaign was being orchestrated from a single centre abroad.

The council said the apparent aim was to create an artificial impression of widespread public discontent, divert attention from the substance of the dress code regulations and use the issue to advance political objectives.

The regulations are intended to uphold the principle of secular education and ensure a uniform approach to dress within educational institutions, the council said.

It urged citizens, media organisations and social media users to exercise caution, verify information before sharing it and remain alert to potentially coordinated activity by suspicious accounts.
