Jordan Daily – Egypt is gearing up to host Israeli and American delegations this week to tackle “pending issues” surrounding a potential ceasefire agreement in Gaza, as reported by Egypt’s Al-Qahera Al-Ikhbariya channel.
A high-level source disclosed ongoing “consultations and contacts” between Egypt and Hamas, forming part of Egypt’s efforts to broker a ceasefire and facilitate prisoner exchanges.
Egypt is intensifying meetings with all stakeholders this week to push forward efforts toward a Gaza ceasefire, the source added.
Meanwhile, according to an unnamed foreign source quoted in Israeli newspaper Haaretz on Saturday, recent Israeli demands could potentially hinder negotiations for a ceasefire and prisoner exchange with Hamas.
The source noted that while Hamas had initially agreed to Israel’s latest stance, new issues emerged during Friday’s meeting.
