Jordan Daily – Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates is planning to buy the currently rented buildings of its diplomatic missions abroad, and open new ones next year, according to the 2024 budget bill seen by the Jordan Daily.
The ministry is also identifying the priorities and costs of acquiring the properties, the bill said.
The government is seeking sources of funding for the purchases, such as the Social Security Investment Fund and the Hajj Fund, the bill added.
The bill allocated JD 660,000 for opening new diplomatic missions and increased the capital spending by JD 259,000 for maintaining the existing embassies and buying armored vehicles.
