Jordan Daily – The Indonesian government denied receiving any information or proposals regarding the relocation of Gaza’s residents to Indonesia as part of post-conflict reconstruction efforts, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
The ministry refrained from speculating on the matter, emphasizing that no official information has been provided.
“Indonesia’s position is clear: any attempt to displace or remove Gaza’s residents is unacceptable,” the statement said, adding that such efforts would only perpetuate the illegal Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories. “These moves align with broader strategies aimed at expelling Palestinians from Gaza.”
The ceasefire in Gaza, Jakarta urged, should instead be used as a platform for dialogue and negotiations toward achieving a two-state solution, in accordance with international law.
The ministry’s remarks follow a report by NBC News, citing an anonymous U.S. official from the Trump administration’s transition team, which suggested that Washington had considered temporarily relocating some of Gaza’s two million residents outside the enclave during its reconstruction. Indonesia was reportedly among the countries considered as a host.
