Jordan Daily – In a phone conversation today, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and his Belgian counterpart Hadja Lahbib discussed the ongoing conflict in Gaza and the urgent need for humanitarian aid in the region, where residents are facing a potential famine.
Safadi expressed appreciation for Belgium’s call for a ceasefire and the delivery of aid, as well as its support for the Palestinians’ right to freedom and statehood. He also highlighted the significance of several European countries’ preliminary decision to recognize the Palestinian state.
The ministers also discussed bilateral relations and reiterated their commitment to enhancing cooperation and maintaining consultation and coordination, both bilaterally and within the framework of the European Union, currently chaired by Belgium.
