Jordan Daily – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi met with his Norwegian counterpart, Espen Barth Eide, in Madrid today on the sidelines of a meeting hosted by Spain on the implementation of the two-state solution.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement Safadi and Eide are attending the meeting alongside members of the Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee, which is focused on international efforts to stop the war on Gaza, along with several European ministers and officials.
The two ministers discussed regional developments and ways to intensify efforts to halt Israeli aggression on Gaza and the dangerous escalation in the West Bank. Safadi and Eide stressed the importance of securing a prisoner exchange deal that would lead to a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, de-escalation in the West Bank, the protection of civilians, and the delivery of sufficient and sustainable humanitarian aid across Gaza.
Additionally, the ministers explored ways to strengthen bilateral relations between their two friendly countries and expand cooperation across various sectors.
