Jordan Daily – Syrian Prime Minister Mohammad Ghazi Al-Jalali said early Sunday he is ready to “cooperate” with any leadership chosen by the people, as well as facilitate a “handover” of power, following the announcement by armed factions that they have begun entering the capital.
In a statement broadcast via his Facebook account, Jalali said: “This country can become a normal state, one that builds good relations with its neighbors and the world… But that decision is up to whichever leadership the Syrian people choose. We are prepared to cooperate and provide all possible assistance.”
The prime minister emphasized the need to preserve Syria’s state institutions, saying, “I am not attached to any position or privileges.”
He reiterated his willingness to work with any leadership chosen by Syrians, stating: “We will cooperate with them and transfer the government to them,” stressing again the importance of safeguarding Syria’s state institutions.
