Jordan Daily – Irbid Criminal Magistrate’s Court has jailed two employees working at a government hospital on charges related to job manipulation, illicit gain and use of official information to achieve a personal benefit, in violation of the provisions of the law.
During a public session on Thursday, the court issued its ruling on the two public employees, handed them a 3- year prison term and fined each JD1, 100.
According to the court’s proceedings, the suspects exploited the Prime Minister’s powers to grant health treatment exemptions at the gov’t’s expense in public hospitals.
To achieve their goals, the employees had access to the hospital’s automated system and issued forged medical exemptions, in return for cash. A total of 100 exemptions were discovered during the process of investigation, per the trial sheet.
