Jordan Daily – Jordan hopes to boost its tourism sector by hosting the 2023 congress of France’s leading network of independent travel agencies, “Selectour” which brings together some of the largest tourism companies in France, the Managing Director of Al Thuraya Travel & Tours said on Thursday.
The conference, which is held every year in a different country, is attended this year by about 600 people and will feature former French President Nicolas Sarkozy as a guest speaker, Taha Fadi Abu Areish told Jordan Daily.
He said the event, which his company has been preparing for more than a year, aims to showcase Jordan’s religious, archaeological and tourist attractions, and to reassure visitors that the country is safe and stable despite the political turmoil in the region.
“We want to show the world that Jordan is a beautiful and hospitable country, and that we have a lot to offer to tourists from different cultures and backgrounds,” he said.
Abu Areish said his company, which has been operating in Jordan since 1995 and is ranked first in the market, has arranged several tourism and marketing programs for the participants to explore the country’s landmarks, such as Petra, Wadi Rum, Jerash, Ajloun and Umm Qais.
He said he received a lot of support from the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and Jordan Tourism Board (JTB) , which helped him present Jordan and make it “shining like a star.”
“Our goal is to provide the best tourism services at the lowest prices, and to win the trust and satisfaction of our customers. We are not only representing Al-Thuraya, but also Jordan,” Abu Areish said.
