Jordan Daily - Royal Jordanian has suspended flights to several countries due to regional airspace closures, Chief Executive Samer Majali said on Sunday, citing heightened tensions following attacks on Iran.
Flights to Syria, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait and Qatar remain suspended, Majali told Al Mamlaka TV, while services to Europe, the Americas, North Africa, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Lebanon are operating with minor delays, depending on conditions.
Majali said no flights had been diverted and Jordanian airspace remained open, though some departures and returns were delayed on Saturday.
Passengers travelling between Jordan and Syria are being transported by bus between Queen Alia International Airport and Damascus, he added.
Majali said no passengers were stranded, though some travellers to Gulf destinations were waiting at the airport for services to resume.
Royal Jordanian was coordinating with authorities to prioritise passenger safety, he said.
