Jordan Daily - Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Ahmed Huneiti visited the Hawk Missile Unit/20 on Tuesday to review its operational and technical readiness, the Jordanian Armed Forces said.

Huneiti was briefed on measures taken in recent days to intercept missiles and drones targeting sites and facilities across several governorates.

He said protecting Jordan’s airspace was a sovereign duty that would not be compromised, adding the armed forces would respond firmly to any threat to national security and citizens’ safety.

Under directives from King Abdullah II, the military is continuing to modernize and upgrade air defence systems while investing in specialized training to enhance readiness and professionalism, he added.
