Jordan Daily - A Jordanian coffee company that began as a decades-long pursuit of the perfect bean is now betting on quality, scale and national identity to carve out a place in a competitive regional market.

Founded formally in 2018, Marouf Coffee traces its roots to 1997, when its founders began travelling internationally to source high-quality beans and refine roasting techniques, according to the company’s website.

That extended period of experimentation laid the groundwork for a branded coffee line built on blends sourced from major coffee-growing regions and developed through years of testing.

The company has since evolved beyond roasting into a vertically integrated business spanning cafés, packaged coffee, bakery items and confectionery, positioning itself as a provider of a premium, all-in-one coffee experience.

Marouf’s growth reflects a broader shift in Middle Eastern consumption patterns, where traditional beverages such as Arabic and Turkish coffee increasingly coexist with specialty and Western-style offerings.

Its product range includes Arabic coffee with cardamom, espresso blends, capsules and flavored drinks, alongside baked goods and desserts. The company emphasizes quality control, citing advanced roasting technology and standardized processes aimed at ensuring consistency.

Marouf has expanded its footprint across Jordan, with outlets in major cities including Amman, Zarqa and Irbid, and is seeking to grow its presence through distribution partnerships in regional and international markets.

The company has also received the King Abdullah II Award for Excellence, one of Jordan’s highest private-sector honors, underscoring its focus on quality and operational standards.

Despite its expansion, Marouf faces strong competition from both global chains and established local players in a region where coffee consumption is deeply embedded in social and cultural life.

Its strategy combines traditional flavors- such as cardamom- and saffron-infused coffee—with modern retail formats, aiming to appeal to both heritage-driven and younger consumers.

Marouf says it aims to become one of Jordan’s most recognized and respected coffee brands, while positioning itself for broader regional growth.

In a market balancing tradition and innovation, the company is counting on that a blend of authenticity, consistency and scale will help it stand out.
