Jordan Daily - His Majesty King Abdullah on Friday received Bahrain Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, deputy supreme commander and prime minister of Bahrain.
The meeting, held in Aqaba and attended by HRH Crown Prince Hussein, covered the deep-rooted ties between Jordan and Bahrain, as well as ways to further strengthen them across various fields, according to a Royal Court statement.
His Majesty reaffirmed Jordan’s solidarity with Bahrain and the Gulf states, emphasising that the security of Arab Gulf states is central to the security and stability of the region.
The King stressed the need to step up international efforts to consolidate the ceasefire agreement, noting that any agreement to end the war must guarantee the security of Arab states.
The meeting also covered the need to strengthen cooperation and coordination among Arab states in order to address the economic repercussions of the recent escalation in the region, the statement said
For his part the Bahraini crown prince expressed appreciation for Jordan’s solidarity with Bahrain, stressing the importance of continuing to work on ways to create promising opportunities for cooperation between the two countries.
Earlier, His Majesty and Crown Prince Hussein had received Crown Prince Salman at King Hussein International Airport upon his arrival.
