Jordan Daily - Hikma Pharmaceuticals said on Sunday it had donated an emergency shipment of medicines worth $1 million to support people affected by two earthquakes in Venezuela that caused widespread damage and casualties.

The company said the medicines were transported aboard two Jordanian humanitarian and medical aid aircraft in coordination with Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates and the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization.

According to a company statement, the donation includes a range of medicines, including anti-infectives, pain relief medications and treatments covering several therapeutic areas such as critical care, respiratory diseases and hospital care.

Hikma said the shipment was intended to help address acute shortages of medicines and medical supplies in Venezuela following the earthquakes.

Hikma said the initiative is consistent with its mission of providing “better health, within reach, every day.”
