Jordan Daily - Malaysian students studying in Jordan and a group of their counterparts from Al-Azhar University in Egypt paid a courtesy visit to the home of Dr. Zeyad Al Azzam, Head of Student Affairs and Alumni at Education Malaysia Jordan (EMJ), as part of efforts to strengthen engagement with the Malaysian student community.
The gathering provided an opportunity for students to discuss their academic progress, well-being and experiences of studying abroad. Dr. Zeyad reaffirmed EMJ's commitment to supporting Malaysian students in Jordan through regular engagement and student welfare initiatives.
A key topic of discussion was Arabic language acquisition through immersion. Dr. Zeyad encouraged students to communicate regularly with local communities, saying consistent daily interaction and cultural engagement were essential to developing language proficiency.
Students from Egypt shared their experiences studying Arabic, noting that Jordan offers a conducive environment for language learning because the local dialect is generally closer to Modern Standard Arabic, helping learners improve both formal and conversational skills.
EMJ said initiatives such as the Ziarah Mahabbah complement students' academic development by promoting personal growth, cultural understanding and emotional well-being. The entire programme was conducted in Arabic to provide participants with practical language immersion.
