Jordan Daily - Public Security Directorate said on Monday that 117 inmates at correctional and rehabilitation centres passed the country’s high school Tawjihi exams this year, the highest success rate recorded since the exams began being held inside the facilities.

The directorate said 231 inmates sat the exams, with a 56% success rate. One inmate achieved a score of 92.15%.

Public Security Directorate Director Major General Obaidallah Al-Maaytah ordered the inmates to be honoured, praising staff for implementing educational and rehabilitation programmes aimed at helping inmates continue their studies and prepare for life after release.

Al-Maaytah said the results demonstrated the effectiveness of the centres’ educational programmes and called for new ways to help successful inmates pursue higher education and vocational training in cooperation with relevant institutions.
