Jordan Daily - The World Gastroenterology Organization (WGO) has selected Dr. Maisam Akroush as a recipient of its 2026 Trailblazer Award for Excellence in Medicine, according to a letter from the organization seen by Jordan Daily.
The award recognizes women in medicine who have demonstrated leadership, innovation and impact in advancing healthcare, education, research, mentorship or advocacy, the letter said.
Akroush will receive the award during the Women in GI session at the World Congress of Gastroenterology in New Delhi, India, on Oct. 2. The congress is scheduled to take place from Sept. 30 to Oct. 3.
The WGO is as a global organization focused on advancing digestive health worldwide.
