Jordan Daily - Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Türkiye agreed to deepen military and intelligence cooperation as Riyadh faces an escalation in attacks by Yemen’s Houthi movement, Saudi Arabia’s Defence Ministry said.
The countries’ military chiefs met in Riyadh on Friday and discussed integrating defensive capabilities under the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement, signed by the three countries in August. The pact treats an armed attack on any one member as an attack on all three.
The officials reaffirmed their commitment to collective defence and to protecting Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, while condemning attacks on civilian and economic infrastructure.
The talks come after an increase in Houthi missile and drone attacks on Saudi Arabia since July, adding to concerns over regional security and shipping routes.
