Jordan Daily - Political activists, religious leaders and members of the public gathered outside an Orthodox church in Amman's Sweifieh area on Friday evening to condemn a terrorist attack on Hmoud Church in Karak governorate that killed several people and wounded others.

The vigil was attended by ministers, senators, lawmakers, political party representatives, youth organisations and tribal leaders. Participants waved Jordanian flags, lit candles and chanted slogans calling for national unity and reaffirming the country's resilience in the face of threats to its security and stability.

Participants said the attack had no connection to Jordanian values or the teachings of Islam and Christianity, stressing that terrorism would not undermine the country's social cohesion.

Muslim and Christian religious representatives condemned the attack as a violation of human and religious values, saying the tragedy affected every Jordanian family. They highlighted the longstanding bonds between the country's communities as a model of peaceful coexistence.

Political, youth and tribal representatives also voiced support for Jordan's Hashemite leadership and security forces, pledging solidarity in efforts to combat extremism and terrorism.

Participants paid tribute to those killed and prayed for the recovery of the wounded, saying Jordan would remain a haven of security and stability despite attempts to undermine it.
