Jordan Daily - Security forces arrested three men suspected of carrying out an attack on Jordanian civilians at a church in the village of Hmoud in Karak , the Public Security Directorate said today.

The three suspects were located at dawn after security forces conducted an ongoing search and combing operation, the directorate said in a statement.

The suspects had barricaded themselves inside an abandoned house and refused to surrender, opening fire on security forces, the statement noted. Security personnel engaged them under the rules of engagement, wounding all three before arresting them.

No security personnel were injured in the operation, the directorate said.

Firearms and ammunition were seized from the suspects and the location where they had been hiding, it added.

The directorate expressed condolences to the families of those killed in the attack and wished a speedy recovery to the wounded.

It said Jordan would remain resilient in the face of attempts to undermine its security, stability and the safety of its citizens.
