Jordan Daily - Jordanian Air Force carried out strikes against “terrorist hideouts” in southeastern Syria, killing and wounding several people, in retaliation for an attack on mourners at a church funeral in Hmoud village of Karak on Friday, the armed forces said on Monday.
The operation, dubbed “Jordanian Deterrence - Hmoud,” targeted sites belonging to groups linked to those responsible for the attack, the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army said in a statement.
Fighter jets struck several locations and destroyed a number of vehicles belonging to the targeted groups, the statement said, adding that the operation was coordinated with the Syrian government.
The army said the strikes were part of efforts to protect Jordanian citizens and safeguard national security, vowing to continue confronting extremism and terrorism.
