Jordan Daily – ASEAN foreign ministers reiterated their support for the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and called on the international community to uphold international law and human rights.
In a joint statement today, the ministers urged all parties involved in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict to engage in meaningful dialogue to achieve a peaceful resolution based on a two-state solution, in line with international law and United Nations resolutions, including the May 2024 General Assembly resolution on Palestine’s admission to the UN.
The ministers also called for all sides to sustain the momentum of the ceasefire and hostage release agreement, which took effect on Jan. 19, 2025, and urged further efforts toward a lasting solution.
They stressed the need for unimpeded humanitarian aid to Palestinians, particularly in Gaza, and highlighted the importance of the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) in providing assistance.
They also emphasized the urgency of rebuilding Gaza to restore the livelihoods of its people.
