Jordan Daily - A Jordanian economic delegation began a series of meetings in Milan on Wednesday aimed at attracting Italian investment, expanding industrial and trade partnerships and encouraging greater Italian participation in an upcoming Jordan-European investment conference, Ministry of Investment said.
The delegation, which includes Planning and International Cooperation Minister Zeina Toukan, Investment Minister Tareq Abu Ghazaleh, Jordan's ambassador to Italy Qais Abu Diyeh and private-sector representatives, met executives from Italian industrial and technology companies to explore investment opportunities in Jordan.
Talks covered manufacturing, technology, pharmaceuticals, logistics and digital services, with discussions focusing on production facilities, skills, technology transfer and other requirements for investment.
Among the Italian companies represented were Pometon, a specialist in advanced metal products; Esapharma, a pharmaceutical manufacturer; Bel , a real estate and logistics developer; and Almaviva, a digital solutions company, the ministry said.
Jordanian private-sector representatives also presented their investment and export experience and discussed potential joint projects with Italian counterparts, highlighting Jordan's position as a production and export hub serving regional markets.
The delegation met Alvise Biffi , president of industrial association Assolombarda, to discuss closer links between the two business communities and encourage Italian participation in the Jordan-European Investment Conference.
It also visited the MADE Competence Center Industria 4.0. at Milan Polytechnic to explore cooperation in smart manufacturing, workforce training and technology transfer.
Abu Ghazaleh said Jordan offered a stable investment environment and access to regional and global markets through its trade agreements, location and skilled workforce. He urged Italian companies to attend the investment conference, scheduled for Nov. 19 at the Dead Sea under royal patronage.
Toukan said the visit aimed to translate cooperation between Jordanian and Italian institutions into investment projects aligned with Jordan's Economic Modernisation Vision.
The delegation will continue its programme in Milan on Thursday, promoting investment opportunities and seeking partnerships between Jordanian and Italian businesses.
