Jordan Daily – In a historic breakthrough, Dr. Aya Al-Asmar was elected president of the Jordan Dental Association on Friday, becoming the first woman to assume the role since the union’s founding.
Al-Asmar secured 1,678 votes, defeating her rival Dr. Mohsen Al- Rousan who received 985 votes.
Her victory marks a significant milestone in the history of Jordan’s professional unions and highlights growing strides in women’s empowerment and representation in leadership roles within the medical sector.
