Hassan says Jordan stands strong with Palestine, no tolerance for threats to national stability

Jordan Daily – Prime Minister Dr. Jafar Hassan on Saturday reaffirmed Jordan’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, highlighting King Abdullah II’s personal commitment to the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and statehood. No country, Hassan said, has stood by Palestine like Jordan over the past decades.

Speaking during a cabinet meeting, Hassan stressed the importance of national unity amid the region’s escalating tensions. He warned against any attempts by internal or external actors to exploit the situation for political gain or to manipulate public emotions. “We are a cohesive country with strong institutions, and we will not allow anyone to take advantage of the people’s sentiments during this sensitive and critical time,” he said.

While expressing solidarity with Palestinians is a shared sentiment among Jordanians, Hassan made clear that any actions endangering the country’s security will not be tolerated. “Incitement that threatens the safety of our citizens is an entirely different matter,” he said, emphasizing that such behavior would not be accepted under any circumstances.

“Jordan’s security and stability, along with the safety of its people, are paramount,” Hassan continued, adding that Jordan’s strength also serves to bolster the resilience of Palestinians. He underscored that the kingdom, under King Abdullah’s leadership, has avoided the chaos that has plagued other countries in the region.

“We will not allow Jordan to become a platform for disorder, nor will we risk the future of our country ,” Hassan said. “We have faith in the awareness, patriotism, and unity of our people, and we remain committed to upholding the rule of law.”
