Jordan Daily – Indonesia welcomed the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, a move long advocated by the Southeast Asian nation and the broader international community, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Thursday.
Jakarta called for the immediate and comprehensive implementation of the agreement to prevent further loss of life in the conflict-ridden region.
The ministry underscored the need for full access to humanitarian aid in Gaza, stressing the importance of restoring the role of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) and beginning reconstruction efforts to rebuild the lives of affected civilians.
“Peace in Palestine cannot be realized without an end to Israel’s occupation and the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state,” the statement read, reiterating Indonesia’s firm stance on a two-state solution, in line with internationally agreed parameters.
