Jordan Daily – The second Jordan Cybersecurity Summit 2024 will take place in Amman next Wednesday and Thursday, under the patronage of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, and is organized by the National Cybersecurity Center.
The Jordan Cybersecurity Summit is an annual event designed to serve as a gathering for cybersecurity experts, thought leaders, and business professionals in this field. The summit is expected to attract over 800 attendees, with more than 50 speakers from various Arab and foreign countries participating. The event will feature more than 25 panel discussions and workshops.
In a statement , Engineer Bassam Al-Maharmeh, President of the National Cybersecurity Center, noted that the summit aligns with the royal vision aimed at positioning Jordan as a regional hub in technology. It also seeks to transform the kingdom into an innovative knowledge-based society equipped with the necessary skills and capabilities to meet the challenges of the global knowledge economy.
He added that the summit’s convening is a practical translation of Crown Prince Hussein’s directives, which emphasize the need to develop a robust national cybersecurity framework. The aim is to enhance the protection of both public and private institutions in Jordan, fostering a secure and attractive environment for investment and supporting business growth.
The summit’s exhibition area will feature more than 15 companies specializing in cybersecurity and offering cyber solutions. Additionally, the event will include an “ethical hacking” competition.
Key topics to be discussed at the summit include: “emerging cyber threats and how to respond to them, international cooperation in cybersecurity and ways to strengthen it, mechanisms for information sharing on threats, and coordinating efforts to combat cross-border cybercrime.”
The summit will also address innovation in cybersecurity technologies, including the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning to detect and respond to threats.
