Jordan Daily – Public Security Directorate (PSD) and the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation (Europol) signed a working arrangement on Saturday to strengthen joint efforts against transnational crime.
The agreement sets a legal framework for cooperation between Europol and Jordanian law enforcement, covering migrant smuggling, drug and firearms trafficking, and money laundering.
It also allows for the exchange of expertise, joint training, and support in individual criminal investigations.
As part of the deal, Jordan will appoint a national contact point and may assign a liaison officer to Europol’s headquarters, joining representatives from over 50 partner countries.
Europol Executive Director Catherine De Bolle called the agreement “a pivotal step” in tackling shared criminal threats.
The arrangement is expected to deepen EU-Jordan cooperation and enhance Europol’s partnerships in the Middle East.
