Jordan Daily – Prince Mired Raad Zeid Al-Hussein, Lord Chamberlain and President of the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, met with German Ambassador Bertram von Moltke and diplomatic representatives to discuss preparations for the upcoming Global Disability Summit in Berlin on 2-3 April 2025.
The Summit, co-hosted by Jordan, Germany, and the International Disability Alliance, aims to promote the rights of persons with disabilities.
Prince Mired stressed the importance of developing and implementing commitments to advance disability rights and securing donor support. He highlighted Jordan’s efforts in mobilising public and private institutions to improve the lives of persons with disabilities.
Ambassador von Moltke praised Jordan’s leadership on disability inclusion and emphasised the Summit’s focus on addressing the rights of 15% of the global population.
The meeting reviewed key initiatives, including the Inclusive and Resilient Cities Initiative, and discussed the Amman-Berlin Declaration, set to be adopted at the Summit’s conclusion, as a roadmap for advancing disability rights globally.
