Jordan Daily -The University of Petra has signed a memorandum of understanding with Al Hussein Technical University (HTU) to strengthen cooperation in technical education and applied research, and better align academic outcomes with labour market needs.
Petra University President Prof. Rami Abdel Rahem said the agreement aims to benefit from HTU’s pioneering model in technical education, particularly following Petra University’s establishment of its technical college.

HTU President Ismael Al-Hinti highlighted his university’s experience in bridging the gap between education and industry, stressing that successful technical education depends on long-term partnerships with the industrial sector and extended training models that enhance graduate employability locally and globally.
The MoU covers collaboration on developing technical and engineering curricula, exchanging academic and administrative expertise, forming joint research teams for applied industrial projects, and facilitating student exchanges for training and extracurricular activities.

The agreement also includes shared use of laboratories and engineering workshops, and joint conferences and workshops in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, renewable energy and environmental sustainability.
The HTU delegation toured Petra University’s facilities, including IT and architecture faculties and its sustainable campus.
