Jordan Daily – Professor Ibrahim Al-Rawashdeh formally assumed office on Tuesday as Director General of the National Agricultural Research Center (NARC), following a Royal Decree endorsing his appointment by the Council of Ministers.
Al-Rawashdeh was selected through a competitive process under the Government Leadership System, scoring the highest among candidates.
A specialist in biodiversity, biotechnology, and medicinal plants, Al-Rawashdeh holds a Ph.D. from the University of Jordan. He brings extensive experience in academic research and administration, having held senior roles at NARC and Al-Hussein Bin Talal University, including Dean of the College of Science and Director of Biotechnology.
He has published more than 48 peer-reviewed research papers and participated in ten international conferences. His work includes supervising and evaluating graduate research on genetic diversity and plant sciences. He has also completed 35 specialized training courses and is ICDL-certified.
Al-Rawashdeh has represented Jordan in scientific forums across 12 countries and is affiliated with 27 national and international research organizations. He has received multiple awards from NARC for outstanding research and public service.
