Jordan Daily - Israel’s defence minister said on Tuesday that Iran’s national security chief Ali Larijani had been killed in an Israeli air strike overnight.
Defence Minister Israel Katz said Larijani, who served as secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, was killed in the strike along with other Iranian officials.
Iran had not immediately confirmed the claim.
Larijani, a prominent political figure and former speaker of Iran’s parliament, had been a key figure in the country’s security establishment.
His reported killing comes amid escalating hostilities between Israel and Iran and a series of Israeli strikes targeting senior Iranian officials.
If confirmed, Larijani would be among the most senior Iranian figures killed since tensions between the two countries sharply intensified.
