Jordan Daily - Jordan’s exports to the European Union surged 54.3% year-on-year in January to JOD 54 million, reflecting stronger competitiveness and improved market access, the President of the European Chamber of Commerce in Jordan (Eurocham) Ali Murad said.
Murad noted in press remarks, seen by Jordan Daily, the increase, from 35 million dinars in the same month of 2025, highlights the effectiveness of efforts to boost trade ties and leverage existing agreements with the bloc, a key economic partner for the kingdom.
Growth was driven mainly by garments, fertilizers, chemicals, and raw phosphate and potash- sectors where Jordan holds clear competitive advantages in cost, quality and supply capacity.
Murad said the results also point to improved supply chains and production performance among Jordanian firms, enabling them to meet European standards and expand their market share.
He credited economic diplomacy efforts and the 2002 EU–Jordan Association Agreement with supporting trade and investment flows, while noting rising acceptance of Jordanian industrial products in European markets.
Murad called for deeper public-private coordination, expanded partnerships with European businesses and continued trade promotion to sustain export growth and unlock new opportunities.
