Jordan Daily - Former Prime Minister Hani al-Mulki inaugurated Petra University’s Dental Centre at an official ceremony attended by academics, medical professionals and public figures, the university said.
The centre houses 150 clinics equipped with advanced technology and computerised diagnostic facilities. It offers free dental treatment alongside specialised services at reduced prices, according to the university.
Mulki said the centre reflected the developmental role of Jordanian universities and represented a strategic investment in strengthening Jordan’s position as a regional hub while serving the community and training young professionals.

“I am personally positively astonished by what I have seen,” Mulki told attendees, describing the centre as a dream and a source of hope. He urged dental students to work hard, remain committed to their profession and treat patients with compassion.
Mahmoud Abu Mweis, the university’s medical affairs adviser and director of the centre, said the project reflected national priorities related to state-building, digitalisation and technological advancement.
“Degrees are of no benefit without skills, nor are paper certificates without empowerment and capacity-building,” Abu Mweis said.
The ceremony was attended by Petra University Board of Trustees Chairman Ghazi al-Zaben, university President President Ali Abu Ghanimeh, representatives of Petra Education Company, and the head of the Jordanian Dental Association, Aya al-Asmar, alongside academics and students.
