Jordan Daily – A ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip officially came into effect at 11:00 a.m. local time on Sunday, following an order given to Israeli forces to halt their operations.
The start of the ceasefire, initially set for 8:30 a.m. local time in Gaza, was delayed after Israeli authorities conditioned the truce on receiving a list of female prisoners set to be released later today.
The Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas, which controls Gaza, announced it had handed over the list of names to mediators, who then passed it on to Israeli authorities. Following this, the Israeli military received the directive to cease hostilities.
