Jordan Daily -  Jordan will present a portfolio of investment opportunities worth nearly $15 billion at a conference with the European Union in November, seeking to attract foreign capital, create jobs and advance projects under its Economic Modernisation Vision.

The Jordan-EU Investment Conference will be held on Nov. 19 at the King Hussein bin Talal Convention Centre at the Dead Sea under the patronage of King Abdullah and with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen expected to attend.

The conference will connect investment-ready projects with European investors and financial institutions, with the government placing a focus on turning proposals into concrete projects and investment.

Energy and mining account for the largest share of the portfolio, with 10 projects valued at about $7.1 billion, according to Al Mamlaka, citing estimates from the Ministry of Investment.

The projects include gas, hydropower, wind energy, green hydrogen, battery storage and solar power, as well as opportunities involving rare earth elements, silica sand and basalt.

Transport projects are valued at about $3.56 billion and include light rail and the national railway.

Four logistics projects, worth around $1.61 billion, cover the Jaber Border Centre, Al Madouna Logistics Centre, Maan Dry Port and Mafraq Development Zone.

Jordan is also offering three tourism projects worth about $1.08 billion, including Amrah Entertainment City, the Abdali Conference Centre and the Aqaba Youth Camp.

Water-sector opportunities are valued at about $442 million, while nine projects in industry and the circular economy are worth around $265 million. They include manufacturing, electric vehicle assembly, phosphate chemicals, agriculture and clean technology.
