Jordan Daily – The Civil Defense Directorate has issued guidelines for road users on how to handle dusty conditions, according to a statement released today.

The Directorate advised, “Obtain reliable information about the road conditions before setting off, and close windows and external air vents.”

It further added, “Maintain a greater than usual safety distance, and do not panic or confuse others when sandstorms occur, especially if visibility is reduced.”

The statement also highlighted the importance of “reducing speed as much as possible to avoid any emergencies, and stopping in a safe place if the dust is dense and impairs visibility.”

The Directorate’s advice comes as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of all road users during periods of high dust and sandstorms.
