Jordan Daily – Classic Fashion’s BIA Textiles spearheaded a forest cleanup campaign at Rehab-Aldajaneh in Mafraq on Monday as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) program, aiming to promote environmental sustainability and community engagement.
The initiative, organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment, the All Jordan Youth Commission, and several youth organizations, focused on removing waste, preserving the natural landscape, and raising awareness about the importance of protecting green spaces.
“This city is our home, let’s care for it as we care for our own,” said Karthikeyan Mariappan, Assistant General Manager for Environmental, Sustainability, Safety & Compliance at BIA Textiles. “Cleanliness is not a luxury; it is our shared responsibility. Let’s clean with purpose, for a healthier tomorrow.”
Engineer Amal Smeiran of the Environment Directorate in Mafraq noted that this campaign seeks to raise environmental awareness, promote responsible waste behavior, and strengthen community cooperation to preserve our surroundings in line with national priorities.
The campaign aligns with the Executive Program of the Economic Modernization Vision, which emphasizes the Waste Management Framework Law No. 16 of 2020, the National Environmental Awareness Plan, and efforts to curb random waste disposal, Smeiran added.
Raya Abu Dalbouh, from Classic Fashion’s CSR team, said the activity underscores the company’s ongoing commitment to environmental preservation. The forest cleanup at Rehab-Aldajaneh reflects our belief that protecting nature is a shared duty. “Collaboration between institutions and local communities is key to achieving real, sustainable impact.”
The event brought together government bodies, youth organizations, civil society institutions, and local residents in a unified effort to keep Mafraq’s forests clean and green.
