Jordan Daily – Hamadi Tabba’a, Chairman of Jordanian Businessmen Association (JBA), discussed with Cheng Yongru, the commercial attaché at the Chinese Embassy in Jordan, plans to hold a Jordanian-Chinese economic conference this year in Jordan. The conference aims to strengthen economic and trade relations between the two countries and boost mutual investments.

In a statement released Sunday, Tabba’a emphasized the importance of expanding Jordanian-Chinese ties in various economic sectors, including tourism, energy, and education. He also called for activating the Jordanian-Chinese Business Council to increase trade and investment flows between the two nations.

Tabbaa urged more frequent meetings between business leaders and the private sectors from both countries to explore and capitalize on investment opportunities, particularly in development, service, and tourism projects.

Yongru highlighted the significance of bolstering economic, trade, and investment relations, welcoming the idea of the conference as a way to boost trade and investment volumes.

He also noted the Chinese Embassy’s role in supporting joint economic projects across various sectors, expressing China’s interest in investing in Jordan’s developmental projects, stressing the importance of continued coordination among business leaders to identify and present investment opportunities in both countries.

In 2023, trade between Jordan and China reached approximately $4.855 billion, with Jordanian exports accounting for around $359 million and imports standing at roughly $4.496 billion.
